Here is my summary of the Point Reyes trip.

Point Reyes was an 11 mile moderate backpacking trip along the coast. It covered about 1,000 feet of vertical each direction and was surprisingly very windy and cold at times. Our campsite was called Wildcat Camp right next to the ocean. It was an open meadow so we had to set up our tarps with poles. Aaron’s patrol tarp collapsed and Mr. McHale had to show them how to set a tarp up correctly with poles (and not trees). We cooked on stoves, and the food was good except for Alec’s very icky veggy burgers and the rubbery Eggbeater eggs for breakfast that had leftover burger and bacon grease in them. After we set up camp we all hiked a 3-mile round trip to the Alamere waterfall that was right on the ocean! The waterfall was beautiful and was the highlight of the trip. We had to scavenge wood from the beach because we were not allowed to cut down wood at the campground area. After dinner we had a campfire on the beach and had the usual s’mores.
